Week #1  Innovation Readiness

“What blocks us from being truly innovative?”

We meet with key stakeholders to understand the innovation readiness of your company. We review your innovation programs, your problem and opportunity space and we how your strategy and organizational purpose are linked to your innovation efforts. We present the ideal innovation setup for a modern, competitive company - with examples from tech and consulting firms - and then perform a gap analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. We capture and analyze known issues, blind spots, unmet needs from the business. We launch a specialized survey to measure perceptions and attitudes towards innovation.

By the end of week #1 you will get a clear understanding of the ideal setup, the gaps and blind spots that you need to address.

Week #2 Opportunity Discovery

“How can we discover and validate more opportunities, faster?“

We bring massive expertise in designing and optimizing corporate ‘opportunity discovery funnels.’ In week #2 we review your current ideation processes and identify the right methods and tools that can increase the flow of ideas, encourage cross-functional cross-team collaboration, spot-high potential ideas and identify the right path ahead for each opportunity. Depending on the current state of your organization and your specific needs, we provide personalized advice aligned with the following topics: how to capture, and communicate ideas, how to make ideas discoverable and usable, how to assess ideas as potential opportunities and identify the next-best-action for an idea.

We also provide guidelines on when and how to develop prototypes and help the development team to adopt rapid prototyping patterns or expand your team’s capacity with vendors and partners. We explain how to evaluate prototypes as the means of learning and gathering insights to make better decisions; how to select the right validation methods and how to move beyond the prototype – selecting the right path e.g., additional experimentation, MVP definition, and implementation, etc.

By the end of week #2 you will have clarity about why and how to invest in spotting innovation opportunities.

Week #3 Innovation Performance

“How can we measure innovation performance?“

We bring our expertise to help you rethink and articulate ‘innovation success’ in your context. We work closely with your leadership to analyze your current performance measurement process, identify the set of metrics, and define the KPIs that accurately reflect the ‘innovation performance’ of your organization. We then design an Innovation Performance dashboard specifically for the needs of your company. We also explain how to measure the innovation culture.

By the end of week #3 you will have a clear understanding of ‘what success looks like’ for innovation for your company.

Week #4 Innovation Culture

“Do we have the right culture for innovation?“

We help companies measure the ‘health’ of the organizational culture with a focus on innovation. Depending on the findings, we shape programs that aim to address the gaps and issues identified. Our interventions are designed for each company, but they typically include certain forms of [a] gamification programs and reward schemes that praise top innovators and collaborators and present 'role models' for innovation [b] Experimentation programs, [c] Knowledge exchange programs and [d] Always-on ideation and cross-team collaboration programs.

By the end of week #4 you will have a solid understanding of the ‘culture of innovation’ - the factors and drivers - along with actionable recommendations on how to improve it.

Week #5 Innovation Playbook

“How can we help people innovate faster?“

We call it the ‘playbook for innovation’ - it is a branded document specially designed for your company, that encapsulates all the instructions, methods, tools, templates and resources for innovation: a simple guide on ‘how to innovate.’ The innovation playbook is an essential innovation asset that presents important definitions of innovation, the problem and opportunity space, and also the methods, tools, decision processes and key people that an innovator or a team would need to be aware of. It provides transparency on the process, and brings alignment across the organizational structure through a shared 'innovation language' and framework.

By the end of week #5 you will have the draft of your own Innovation Playbook (to be finalized in the final phase of this program.)

Weeks #6-8 Innovation Masterplan

“How can we make our company more innovative?”

We work with our clients to understand their current innovation readiness, capture their unique needs, and shape a unique ‘innovation transformation roadmap.’ This provides clarity to our clients in terms of the required investment in capabilities, talent and programs to increase the innovation readiness of their organization and gradually take it to an operating mode where innovation happens naturally, organically, all the time: the Innovation Mode. We help our clients rethink their organizational design and introduce changes that can increase their ability to innovate. Our recommendations typically include extensions and quick fixes of the organizational design along with advisory on the essential innovation roles, required skill sets, teams setup and collaboration models.

By the end of week #8 you will receive the formal deliverables: [a] A deck with detailed Recommendations, [b] the Innovation Masterplan, [c] the Innovation Playbook. These will be presented and discussed on the completion of the program.

This is a rapid, timeboxed, 8-week advisory program with defined deliverables. It is offered as fully remote or in a hybrid mode with the first and/or last week delivered on-premise. Typically includes 50 hours of innovation advisory delivered in 32 sessions over 8 weeks leading to 4 deliverables presenting you actionable advice on how to make your company more innovative.
